Running Up That Hill

Who's your dentist?This is CNN’s dental commentary, I guess.

Anyway, tonight was a great slaughter! Way to go, Barack! You’ll close that gap even when you do count Super Delegates. Obama picked up Louisiana, Nebraska, and Washington, but clearly the only reason was the overwhelming black populations in these states and some serious repression of the female vote. Whatev - the Barack Rock is gonna rock it all the way to Maine tomorrow. Get out of the way!

Check out my democratic primary map below because I totally updated it. Notice that New Mexico is still not filled in. While in retrospect all of the states that crowded the February 5th primary date look kind of silly now because they achieved the exact opposite of what they were attempting, I would say that New Mexico looks the most foolish. Unless in a cunning move they are purposely delaying the counting of their last votes in order to make a big splash later on. Good on them!

MAPOn the Republican side the Huckaback took Kansas by storm earlier today, and as I’m writing this it looks like he’ll barely pick up Louisiana too. He’s also doing very well in Washington, but McCain is slightly ahead at this moment. Still, I didn’t expect him to do so well in the northwest. Pretty neat!

It’s the election cycle that never dies.

  1. For sure, Obama’s wins - and more over the margins therein - are encouraging, but I feel like the Clinton camp prepped the press well on this turn of events.

Per the Clinton spin, the press is acting like these wins were forgone, and focusing on Ohio and Texas. Both of these are a month away, with much the amiable Obama beltway primaries directly ahead of us. For sure, the treasures of March 4th are valuable, but there are dozens upon dozens of delagates in play before then.

At least Obama will remain the “underdog”, which well suits the Change mantra.

  2. Yes, they did prep them well. I have to give Clinton credit - she’s done a much better job directing the press to her narrative than Obama has.

But I think things are turning now that he picked up the three on tuesday.
